Technical Controls Review | Technical controls are elements in your environment which function as filters, gateways and control points that provide visibility, flow control, and influence on data as it moves between security zones. Common control elements include firewalls, intrusion detection and prevention systems, anti-virus and web filtering. It is critically important to ensure that these controls are implemented appropriately and completely in order to provide the expected return on investment and security value. This review focuses on the quality and completeness of each technical control. This review also seeks to identify any gaps which may exist in the current set of technical controls which may limit the organization’s ability to meet or maintain the accepted minimum practices for appropriate security for your organization. The Technical Controls Review is included with the Comprehensive Security Assessment and is also available as a stand-alone engagement.
